Book and Magazine Use:
Books may be checked out for two weeks and will be renewed for another two weeks upon request. We must see the book in order to renew.
Each student may check out a maximum of three books at any one time.
For fifth and sixth graders, one of those books must be an AR book.
Students with overdue books may not check out any more books until the overdue books are returned or fines paid.
Students are responsible for the care of the books checked-out in their name. If a book is damaged or destroyed by a third party, the fine will be charged to the student named in the computer. That student may then seek reimbursement from the third party.
There is a $5.00 damage fee for books that are repairable, otherwise, replacement cost will be charged.
There is a replacement cost fine charged for all lost books. If the book is found within one year after the fine has been paid, the fine will be refunded.
If there is any question about the return or loss of a book, please feel free to contact either librarian and we will do our best to assist.
Computer Lan Use:
All students using the Computer Lan must have a signed Internet Permission form on file with their first period teacher. Click here to print out a copy.
Students coming to the Computer Lan must have an educational purpose and must check with one of the librarians before going to the computers.
No E-mail or music sites are to be accessed from the school computers. (Too many viruses!)
Any student caught on an inappropriate site will be suspended from the Computer Lan for a period of time as deemed appropriate by the librarian. Parents will be notified.
Scheduling Library Use:
Individual students may come to the library for book check-out whenever they wish-- provided they have their classroom teacher's permission for that period.
Classes will come to the library together as scheduled by their teacher and/or the librarians.
All students spending time for computer use or just for reading or pleasure time need a note signed by that period's classroom teacher.
Teachers, or other staff members, wishing to use the library for large group activities should schedule with the librarian two to three weeks in advance. A month in advance would be best for activities that would preclude others from using the library during that time.
Equipment Use for Teachers only:
DVD/VCR players may be checked out on a day by day basis.
The Laptop Cart for the students may be checked out as needed. There is a sign-up notebook at the check out desk. Plan ahead, because this is a popular item.
We have three LCD projectors available for check-out. The sign-up notebook used for the laptop cart is also used for reserving these projectors. Again, plan ahead.
Overhead projectors are distributed at the beginning of each year and remain in the classroom until no longer needed. We have several extras to provide replacements while disfunctional overheads are sent to Metro for repair. See the librarian for assistance.
Replacement overhead projector bulbs are kept in the library. Be sure to identify the letters on the bulb when requesting a new one. (ENX, FXL, EYB etc.)
